Welcome Back!

Hi everyone, and welcome back to another year with the Pets Palace blog!

For our first post of the year, we are going to share with you an article we thought was noteworthy last week:

Forget the Golden Globes: it's the first ever Golden Collars for Best Dog actors

You know how actors always complain about working with animals? Well that's maybe because they know their furry co-stars might actually be better actors than they are, and now there's finally a way they can get the same recognition as their human peers.
Just in time for today's 69th annual Golden Globes, Hollywood canine news service Dog News Daily (we had no idea it even existed until today either), has announced the inaugural Golden Collar Awards to honour the year's Best Dog performers in the entertainment industry.
There are three awards for film pooches, including Best Dog in a Theatrical Film, Foreign Film and Direct-to-DVD Film, and two awards for TV's dogs in respective reality and scripted series.
The Artist actress Penelope Ann Miller will announce the Golden Collar Award nominees on January 18, with the ceremony to be held in the peak of pre-Oscar buzz at LA's dog-friendly Hotel Palomar on February 13.
Frontrunners in the race include Uggie, the cute Jack Russell from the six-time-Golden-Globe-nominated French silent film The Artist, and Cosmo, another Jack Russell from Ewan McGregor's indie hit Beginners.
The two cuties posed together in an Oscar-themed photo shoot for The Hollywood Reporter — watch their adorable meeting in the vide above!
Let's hope Koko from Australia's Red Dog gets a look-in. And those gorgeous lab puppies from Bridesmaids too
